#49. 3/50 Project

#48. This is Photobomb

My life isn't very exciting these days. I eat, sleep, study, eat, sleep, study...you get the picture. Speaking of pictures, my friend introduced me to this great site called This is Photobomb. Most of the pictures are slightly inappropriate, but funny nonetheless!

Can I debut or get married or something? I am DYING to wear this dress! It's gorgeous!
As you all know, it's that time of the year - wedding season! There's nothing I love more than J.Crew Weddings. Simple. Classic. Tasteful. Perfect!

A great option for a summer wedding guest.

...another chic option.

Classic BM dress. Beautiful back.

Gorgeous color. Ideal for an outdoor wedding.

Another fantastic option.

How adorable is this flower girl dress?!

Hello handsome!

A classic look.

#46. New Hampshire Senate Approves Gay Marriage

Today the New Hampshire Senate voted to approve a bill legalizing same-sex marriage in the state. The House has already approved the bill. If Governor Lynch doesn't veto the legislation, New Hampshire will become the 5th state to legalize gay marriage. Hooray!

#45. The Game

Episcopal High School is a private boarding school in Alexandria, Virginia affectionately named "The High School". Episcopal was founded in 1839 as an all male preparatory school and was the first high school in Virginia. Though Episcopal became co-ed in 1991, its famous rivalry with Woodferry Forest School in Orange, Virginia remains stronger than ever. Every fall, the schools' football teams meet for The Game. The annual football game began in 1901 and is the longest consecutive high school rivalry in the South. Alums, parents, friends, and fans join the students on Friday night to celebrate the event with a bonfire. The Game follows Saturday afternoon. This annual weekend is always fun, fabulous, and exciting. Go High School!

#44. Playing for Change - Stand By Me

Fun Fact of the Day...

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are the only dogs allowed in Parliament. (Thanks, Charles II!)

#43. Grazia Interview with Ed Westwick

I don't really care of Ed Westwick knows nothing about fashion. He's quite attractive and has a lovely accent.

#42. Ina Garten

Today is my mother's birthday. There are few people she and I find more fabulous than Ina Garten. Not only is Ina a whiz in the kitchen, but she is a best selling author, TV host, pilot, and former nuclear policy analyst! She has no formal training but is an excellent chef and entertainer. I love Paula Deen y'all, but Ina is so elegant, fresh, and fun. She's even a registered Democrat!

#41. Babies (Eleanor)

I love babies. Wellll... I love most babies. I babysit for the most perfect and precious baby of all time. Her name is Eleanor (pictured above). Last night I took a break from exams to babysit Eleanor for a couple of hours. It never ceases to amaze me how funny and personable babies can be...even at Eleanor's age. She's a delight!

#40. Place des Vosges

La Place des Vosges is the oldest square in Paris. It was built by Henri IV in 1605 and has a rich history. Henri II died there, Victor Hugo lived there from 1832-1848, and Charles Lebrun painted the ceilings of the Hotel de la Riviere there. La Place des Vosges is one of my favorite place in Paris. In the summer of 2001, I lived with a family on La Rue des Tournelles, right beside the square. Every time I walked to and from school, I walked through the square. One day in July, the square was covered in lavender from Provence. It smelled like heaven. La Place des Vosges is one of the prettiest places in Paris...and the world.

#39. The Rivah

As a kid, I learned to swim, canoe, and fish on the Greenbrier River. In high school, I learned to row on the Potomac and Occoquan. I also began rafting on the New and Gauley. In college, I learned to white water canoe and kayak on the Hiawassee, Cartecay, Nantahala, and French Broad. I am a total river rat. I love to sit on the beach and build sand castles, but crabs, jelly fish and sea lice? Eeek! Trout, crawfish, snakes and algae? No problem. There are few smells better than the Greenbrier River. When I am on the river, I feel at home.

#38. Headbands

I realize many of you NEVER saw this post coming, but headbands are truly fabulous! They can make or break an outfit. My headband idol is Blair Waldorf. She has the most gorgeous headband collection. The good news is headbands can be found in just about any clothing store. If you don't want to spend the $$, headbands are very easy to make. I made the headband below with a $1.00 plastic headband, a $6.00 glue gun, and some fake flowers from Le Wal Le Mart.

Some of the best places to find headbands:

Bambako

Frosting Couture

Jennifer Behr (worn by Blair!)

Sheena Holland

J.Crew

Juicy Couture

and Anthropologie

#37. My Big Sister in the NYT Style Section

Easter wasn't only fabulous because I spent time with my family and well, who doesn't love Easter, but that Sunday morning I awoke to find Ms. Olivia Thacher in the New York Times Style Section (Evening Hours by Bill Cunningham). What a fabulous Easter surprise! I can only hope she will frame her first (but not last) appearance in the NYT. Yippee!!

#36. Kari Herer Photography

Thanks to my big sister, Olivia, I discovered the most fabulous photographer from Portland. Her name is Kari Herer. She specializes in children and animals, but all of her work is amazing. This is her website, and this is her blog. Enjoy!!

(630): She is in my trunk

(212): How's tricks little girl?
(205): Trix are for kids, old man.

#34. Summer Footwear

There are few things more fabulous than summer footwear. My summer staples are comfortable, easy, and classic...and I've been wearing them since junior high!

99% of the time, I am wearing one of the following:
1. Jack Rogers (in white, gold, or black)
2. Rainbows (brown or black)
3. New Balance 991s (gray)
4. Chacos (outdoor adventures only)

The best part of spring? Breaking in new Jacks. Sigh.

#33. Tots and Hummus

It's Thursday. My favorite way to end Thursday nights is with tots & hummus (preferably at Racine). After a night of fun, there's something incredibly delicious about the tots and hummus combo. Tots and ketchup are really overrated.

#32. Design-her Gals

Design-her Gals is a fabulous website for stationery, e-cards, and gifts. I can create models for my friends, my pets, and myself. Above is an example of stationery I created for myself, complete with Eloise! I love this site because I can adjust eye color, hair color, shoes, accessories, etc. Love it!

#31. Summer Camp

I spent thirteen summers at Camp Alleghany, a girl's camp right outside of my hometown. At camp, we sleep in tents, climb a hill for breakfast, and spend the day canoeing, dancing and singing. Each summer, Lilly-clad, squeaky clean girls ages 8-16 cross the river with their parents. Before long, tennis, archery, and landsports fill the day. The girls have long forgotten about their apperances and life at home.
I met my best friends in the entire world at camp. Most of my favorite experiences have taken place at camp. I certainly wouldn't be who I am today without it. I feel so fortunate to have spent part of my childhood in such a wonderful, nurturing environment.
There are tons of great camps across the nation. Virginia and Greenbrier are Alleghany's brother camps. Other great camps include Seafarer, Seagull, Merriwood, Mont Shenandoah, Illahee, Tecumseh, and Carolina.

#30. Earth Day

Every year we celebrate Earth Day on April 22. The celebration started in 1970 when Senator Gaylord Nelson (D-Wisconsin) proposed a nationwide environmental protest. On April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans stormed the streets in order to promote a healthy, environmentally friendly world. According to the Earth Day Network, "Earth Day 1970 achieved a rare political alignment, enlisting support from Republicans and Democrats, rich and poor, city slickers and farmers, tycoons and labor leaders. The first Earth Day led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species acts. Sen. Nelson was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom -- the highest honor given to civilians in the United States -- for his role as Earth Day founder." Learn what you can do to promote Earth Day here. Find Earth Day events in your area here. Finally, calculate your ecological footprint here.

#28. SEC Tailgates

SEC colleges are known not only for their football programs, but for their tailgating as well. I was dumb enough to attended the school with the worst football team and mediocre tailgating. My gorgeous younger sister (second from left, above) has been fortunate to experience SEC tailgating at it's finest in Athens, GA. Georgia tailgates are fantastic. Lots of booze, lots of Chik-fil-A, and lots of hot girls in pretty dresses. The event of the year is the Georgia-Florida game in Jacksonville. It is appropriately nicknamed "The World's Largest Cocktail Party". Every year, approximately 100,000 fans show up to tailgate and enjoy the festivities. Below is a beach picture from this past fall.

#27. someecards.com

Someecards is one of my favorite websites. The cards always make me laugh. Quoting the website, "Someecards.com is possibly to probably the best site on the Web for free, funny ecards. We have greeting cards for every occasion - from important to utterly pointless...We suggest you e-mail them to friends, family, coworkers, loved ones, liked ones, and anyone else with fingers." Ha! I love it! The card above was one of my favorites when I was working as a paralegal. Below are some other good ones:

...I feel this way sometimes. Well, ooook, I feel this way everyday.

This is one I personally created.

#26. Sofia Mini

Inspired by director, producer, screenwriter and actress Sofia Coppola, Sofia Mini is a refreshingly fabulous canned wine produced by the Francis Coppola Winery in California. It is a blend of 70% Pinot Blanc, 20% Sauvingnon Blanc, and 10% Muscat Cannelli. The cans come in 4-packs complete with matching red straws. The packaging makes this sparkling wine chic and practical; it can be taken to the beach, on a picnic, or easily transported to a party. Fabu!

#25: Bright, Flowery Spring Jewelry

I have a great love for Van Cleef & Arpels (especially the Alhambra collection), but my inability to afford it has caused me to focus my attention elsewhere on other fun, flowery, and relatively inexpensive jewelry. Kate Spade, Lilly Pulitzer, J.Crew, Coach and Juicy Couture have gorgeous spring collections this year. Below are a few of my favorites.
